Day Two - Nothing broke! On a vehicle anyway...

Friday dawned with a little less of the drenching rain we heard all night long. The remarkably resourceful Dan dove deep into the large pelican case of tools that he brought along and made a valiant effort to straighten out the injured bumper.

It's gonna take more than that, unfortunately. But our spirits are still high because it's just a bumper. Bumpers can be fixed. We did, however, remove the super cool limb risers because they were just sad and saggy due to the lost tension of the bumper changing position.

We got on the road around 11am after buttoning up the apartment motor home. A fairly short day in store, we were just going as far as Salt Lake City area. We stopped in Twin Falls, ID for lunch at a fun little pub called Scooter's Chillin' -n- Grillin'. Scott Bruder, did you name that place? :) Twin Falls is a surprisingly big little town that you have to drive over a magnificent gorge to get into. It is the site of one of Evel Knievel's most daring stunts, blasting over the Snake River in a miniature rocket, which sadly did not work like he planned.

The title of today's posts implies that something broke. Happily, our vehicles survived this day just fine. However, just before we got to Twin Falls we got a call from the kennel where our dog Charlie is staying and, after an hour of friendly play he and another dog had words. A vet visit, stitches, anasthesia, the cone of shame, and $400 unexpected dollars later...

He's doing fine now and the kennel people love him and will take good care of him. In case you're wondering we would have loved to bring him with us but once we get to Expo he would have had nowhere to be all day long.

On to Moab, where the weather looks a little dicey on Sunday but we're hoping for at least a little bit of sunshine.
